It’s light, durable, fast, and thin? What is it? A Mac??

The new MacBook Air is proof of Apple’s advanced technology. Released on October 20, 2010, it is designed around all-flash storage for more reliability and faster speed. The MacBook Air features a trackpad with full Multi-Touch support. Even though it is extremely light, it has the battery power to last for hours on a single charge. The MacBook Air is Apple’s most mobile notebook ever. It is light, thin, durable, and performs quickly. The MacBook Air uses flash storage instead of a hard drive. Usually, the flash chips are enclosed in a hard drive sized enclosure, even though the flash chips themselves are very small. In the new MacBook Air, only the flash chips are put into the computer, leaving space for a bigger battery. Apple’s trackpad also provides the most optimal way to experience Multi-Touch on a notebook. The MacBook Air’s unibody enclosure is made from a single piece of aluminum, which makes it extremely light and durable. The new MacBook Air display is only 4.86 millimeters thin, but it features a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. The MacBook Air also has a FaceTime camera that is so thin you barely see it, but it is extremely high quality.

The new MacBook Air features the NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 48 processing cores. The graphics processor is more than two times faster than the previous MacBook Air. The new MacBook Air also features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The new MacBook Air comes with Mac OS X Snow Leopard. The new MacBook Air comes with tons of applications right out of the box compared to PCs. Unlike PCs, Macs do not get Trojan horses, worms, or email viruses. That is a big step up compared to PCs, which are so vulnerable and susceptible to intruders and attack. In general, I think the MacBook Air is fast, efficient, sleek, and full of various features.

The Mac Pro. 12 cores. Fast.

The Mac Pro delivers more processing power, more graphics performance, and more storage availability. It is pretty much a super computer. The Mac Pro offers two advanced processor options from Intel, the Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor and the “Westmere” series. “Nehalem” is available in a single-processor, quad-core configuration at speeds of up to 3.2GHz. “Westmere” is available in both quad-core and 6-core versions. The Mac Pro comes with one or two processors to make a total 12-core system if you like. Often, system memory is connected to a processor through a separate I/O controller. Unlike in typical computers, the Mac Pro’s Intel processors feature an integrated memory controller, giving the processors faster access to data stored in memory. The Mac Pro also features Turbo Boost, a dynamic performance technology that increases the speed of active processors. The Intel Xeon processors support Hyper-Threading, which allows two threads to run per core.

The Mac Pro also comes with high-performance graphics cards from AMD. The ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory comes standard. You also have the option to upgrade to the ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory. The Mac Pro comes with an enormous amount of storage, up to 8TB. You also have the option to add up to four 512GB solid-state drives, which have no moving parts and are capable of accessing data speeds up to 230MB per second. The Mac Pro RAID Card with 512MB of RAID cache, a 72-hour cache-protecting battery, and hardware RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 0+1 enhance SATA hard drive performance and data protection. The Mac Pro also comes with one 18x SuperDrive, but you have the option to upgrade to get another.

In general, the Mac Pro is one of the fastest computers out there. Released on August 2010, the new Mac Pro comes with various different options and can be customized to fit your lifestyle. Does it sound like the computer for you? What do you think?

When Will Everyone Have Apple TVs?

The strong competitors are finally joining the Internet set top box market and for such a new niche they’ve created some pretty impressive stuff with products like Boxee and Google TV. Their thorough (and sexy) aggregation of all that Internet content is their selling point, completely one-upping Apple TV’s feature set. This is one product where Apple has been surprisingly un-revolutionary. From its 2007 inception beside the iPhone there have been many, more reasonable alternatives with more features. Both the iPhone and Apple TV were App-less at that time, and three years later look at how much the App Store addition has affected the iPhone (while Apple TV turned iTV and got Netflix). Now that we’re all trained in the iOS ways it will take much less time to reach this point on the iTV – if it ever gets an App Store.

The iTV App Store would bring the amount of endless capability that has come to the iPhone and iPad to your TV, without the limitations of the small screen. Current App Store developers would develop for this interface and provide their Video, Music, Entertainment, Productivity, Game, and (maybe) even Cable content to the Apple TV because it gives them a huge audience and the power to be in control of the delivery of their content.

Adding a wireless keyboard and trackpad (or an iPad — basically the size of my macbook’s keyboard/trackpad) would give it the ability to replace the desktop — an OSX Lion App could simply handle all the tasks that the iOS Apps couldn’t. If Apple can stuff a bunch of memory and a fast processor into that tiny black box all you’d need is an external hard drive and you’re computer would not only fit in your pocket, but become one with your TV.

Sound good – or am I just fanaticizing about never having to see the Comcast On-Demand menu ever again?

Apple’s online store in China a success!

Within 24 hours since the launch of the online Apple Store, the Apple Store sold out its entire stock of iPhone 4s. The new online Apple Store was a huge success in China. Apple wants to access China’s growing economy and online shopping market by selling Apple products through the new online Apple Store. With access to China’s growing market, Apple will be able to make about US $ 17.91 billion worth of transactions in the third quarter of 2010. The online Apple Store will be a more convenient way for China’s consumers to purchase Apple products. Unauthorized resellers are a big problem in China and are cause for concern. Apple hopes that the online store will prevent the selling of Apple products from unauthorized resellers because more people will more likely buy it directly from the new online Apple Store.

Apple’s success in China was inevitable. Apple is so popular in the United States, so why wouldn’t it be in China? iPhone 4s sold out within 24 hours. I am pretty sure that is a good sign. The online Apple Store will have to restock though and I would recommend that you check back often. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this topic.
